ELIZABETH RAJAH captured a Triple Crown in the National Junior Table Tennis Championships last weekend at the National Racquet Centre, Tacarigua.

The only double-crown singles champion of last years Silver Bowl Junior Championships did not pull off the singles double this time, as she was edged for the Under-15 title by last years champ, Jannah Mohammed.

But Rajah, who kept her Under-13 trophy, earned two doubles titles to be the most successful player again.

The Carenage Blasters player and Under-11 runner-up Hidayah Mohammed cruised past Gabrielle Basso and last years Under-11 winner Everleigh McKenna 11-4, 11-4, 11-1 in the Under-13 final.

The champs were on opposite sides of the net in the mixed doubles title match, and Rajah combined with singles runner-up Daniel Bhim to beat Mohammed and Zayden Sagramsingh 11-9, 11-5, 11-1.

The latter, who completely dominated the Under-9 and 11 age-groups last year, still finished with two titles.

Sagramsingh, who retained his Under-11 singles crown, helped Bhim to earn his second trophy when they overwhelmed Aarav Basant and singles champ Mateo Mollineau 11-1. 11-2, 11-2 in the Under-13 doubles final.

Sekel McIntosh did not prevent Malik Gopaul from completing a hat-trick of Under-19 singles titles in the countrys most prestigious junior tournament.

But last years Under-15 champ and Johnathan Cottoy took down the Classified Championships A1 semi-finalist and Yannic Lewis 11-5, 16-14, 11-9 for the doubles title.

Jerisse Elder was on the winning team in the other doubles events in the oldest category to join Sagramsingh and Bhim as double-crown champs.

The southpaw and Classified semi-finalist Josiah Joseph came from two games down to edge singles champ Jinai Samuel and McIntosh 11-13, 11-13, 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 in the Under-19 mixed doubles final.

Elder and Makeisha Lewis won both matches in a straight round-robin event for the doubles crown.
